Michelle Obama is the wife of former USA president Barack Obama. This means that Michelle is also the former First Lady of the USA. Her marriage to Obama and subsequent venture into politics have always been under scrutiny. As if that wasn’t enough, many people doubt that she was ever pregnant. However, Michelle Obama pwas regnant two times and gave birth to two beautiful daughters.

Michelle revealed that she was indeed pregnant at separate times with her two children in a memoir. She wasn’t unaware of the rumors circulating about the birth of her two children. In the memoir, Michelle further stated how difficult it was for her to conceive. In fact, she lost one pregnancy and found it hard to have children afterward. This prompted her and Obama to try IVF.
Fortunately, she got pregnant and successfully gave birth to a healthy baby. Hence, she opted to try IVF the second time and it was also successful. During her two pregnancies, various media houses captured her and captioned their headlines with ‘Michelle Obama pregnant’.
As stated earlier, Michelle released a book where she detailed her life, motherhood, and role as the ex-first lady. She vividly depicted her experiences and the criticism she received from the public. In addition, she was not shy to write about her days as Barack Obama’s wife.

She told the interviewer that she miscarried many years ago and felt incredibly sad. Michelle further stated how she grieved for her lost child and yearned for a child after she had healed. According to her, it dawned on her that time was ticking if she planned to have any child. It was a wake-up call for her to try other legal means because she has always wanted to be a mother. Michelle, who once worked as a hospital administrator and lawyer, confessed that she didn’t know miscarriages were common. Therefore, she felt a failure for not being able to carry her child to full term.
Michelle implored women to talk more about miscarriages so that people going through the same will know they’re not alone. She then acknowledged that when women experience miscarriages, they are in so much pain and think that they failed. This is why she implored more young women to speak out about their experiences. Furthermore, Michelle admonished women to stop hiding their pain and talking to other women about their bodies if they feel comfortable.
Additionally, she mentioned the trouble her family faced from Donald Trump’s constant verbal harassment. She criticizes him for inciting others to attack her family.
Michelle didn’t hide the fact that her marriage was perfect. She acknowledged that nobody is perfect, and by default, there is no perfect relationship. It is normal for spouses to argue and have disagreements. However, how both parties handle the disagreement matters in the relationship.
She went on to state that she and Barack sometimes struggle during hard times. She especially recalled the most difficult times in her marriage, her miscarriage, and her IVF process. When she started on the IVF treatment, Barack had just gotten a post in the legislature. Therefore, she was left alone at their house and had to inject herself with IVF injections. Not only that, she had to deal with speculations on whether Michelle Obama was pregnant.’
Michelle talked about the importance of marriage counseling and how it has helped her marriage. She said things could have been different if she and Barack hadn’t agreed to go for counseling. Michelle revealed that during their sessions, she and Barack opened up about their differences and talked in depth about their feelings. And contrary to what many people think about their ‘perfect’ marriage, it wasn’t a smooth ride. They had to work on their relationship because they truly love each other and want the best for each other. She told couples going through a rough patch to consider going for counseling.
During the interview, Michelle reminisce how she met and fell hard for Barack. She said at first she didn’t allow herself to acknowledge her feelings. But she couldn’t help it and fell deeper for him. What followed was a rush of emotions beyond her control.
It is no secret that the Obama family, including Michelle Obama, is not a fan of Donald Trump, which is understandable. Trump takes every opportunity to bash the previous Obama administration and verbally attack the family. Thus, it is understandable that the Obama family doesn’t support him. In her memoir, Michelle wrote that forgiving Trump is out of the question, given the role he played in antagonizing her family. She said that Trump started the rumor of Obama being born outside America in a bid to undermine Barack’s citizenship.
