Toy Train embarked on its first journey in 1899 and is still continuing to charm and attract its visitors as it runs to and fro on a daily basis and the trips increase during the peak tourist summer season. It covers a total distance of forty-six kilometres and takes around five hours to complete this journey as it is laced with scenic and picturesque views. The journey starts from Mettupalayam a quaint place located on Bhavani River. Where the first few miles are plain but for the next twelve miles the coaches are pulled upwards by the engine towards a height of 4,363 feet and cover destinations like Kellar, Coonoor, Wellington, Lovedale, and Ootacamund along the way.

This coastal town of South India is famous for its beaches especially the Hawa Beach and Lighthouse Beach along with Vizhinjam Juma Masjid mosque. Kovalam is located thirteen kilometres from Trivandrum and is also known for its Ayurvedic massage centres and resorts. The largest beach in Kovalam is Lighthouse Beach which has a thirty-metre tall lighthouse. And adjacent to it lie two other beaches named Hawa and Samudra Beach. These three beaches have shallow water and are crescent-shaped. Vizhinjam Rock Cut Cave Temple lies in the seaside quaint hamlet of Vizhinjam and has rock-cut sculptures that date back to the eighth century. It also features a one-celled shrine of Vinadhara Dakshinamurti with an incomplete statue of Lord Shiva holding a bow and Parvathi on one side.

  • Ooty Lake

Next on the bucket list of places to visit with the Ooty Packages is the Ooty Lake. It is an artificial lake with the sole purpose of fishing. Ooty Lake lies at a distance of two kilometres from the city in the lush green hills of the Nilgiris District. The lake covers an area of sixty-five acres and the foundation of the lake was laid by John Sullivan in 1824 as he was the collector of Coimbatore. It is encompassed by Eucalyptus trees and there is greenery all around the place. The visitors can catch a glimpse of streams flowing through the hills. One can also hire paddle boats, motor boats, and rowing boats from the boathouse.
